Srinagar, Apr 24 (KNO): In the aftermath of Pahalgam attack that left 26 people dead and several injured, the Government of India Thursday announced the suspension of all the valid visas issued to Pakistani citizens from April 27 while the medical visas will remain valid only until April 29, 2025. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said all Pakistani nationals, currently in India, must leave before their visas expire, as now amended. Further, Indian nationals have been advised against travelling to Pakistan. Those already in the country have been urged to return at the earliest. “In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect,” the MEA said, adding that all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from 27 April 2025. “Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till 29 April 2025. All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave the country before the expiry of visas, as now amended. Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest,” it added. On Wednesday, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, closed the Attari land border, expelled Pakistani defense staff and withdrew its own military advisors stationed in Islamabad in response to the Pahalgam attack on April 22. 26 people, mostly tourists and a local horse rider were killed in a major terror attack in Pahalgam area, leaving the entire country in shock and mourning—(KNO)
